The Critical Importance Of High Quality Omega-3’s For Optimizing Your Overall Health, Well-Being And Body Composition.

omega health

Fish oil has been a staple health and fitness supplement for decades, and for very good reason.

That’s because it contains the highly valuable omega-3 fatty acids:

EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid)
DHA (docosahexaenoic acid)

… two essential nutrients that produce a virtually endless list of important benefits within the body.

Adequate consumption of EPA and DHA is not just a passive recommendation – it could literally save your life.

A study by The Harvard School Of Public Health found that omega-3 deficient diets are the sixth highest killer of Americans, causing up to 96,000 preventable deaths every single year. [1]

This is mainly due to the increased risk of heart disease that results from a low EPA/DHA intake, which is currently the leading cause of mortality worldwide. [2-5]

Fish oil improves heart health by raising levels of HDL (the “good” cholesterol), lowering triglyceride levels, reducing inflammation and moderating blood pressure. [6-17]

Beyond giving you a healthier heart, it can also give you a healthier brain too.

Research has shown that fish oil assists in improving overall cognitive function, reducing age-related mental decline, preventing the onset of certain psychological disorders, and even lowering levels of anxiety and depression. [18-33]

On top of its cardiovascular and psychological benefits, fish oil has been shown to improve bone health, boost immune system function, enhance skin health, improve vision and increase circulation. [34-46]

Not only that…

A proper daily dose of EPA/DHA can also have positive effects on your ability to build muscle, burn fat and perform at your full potential.

Studies have shown that fish oil consumption:

  • Increases activation of the mTOR pathway, a central trigger of protein synthesis. [47, 48]
  • Reduces muscle breakdown by lowering cortisol levels. [49-51]
  • Improves fatty acid oxidation and insulin sensitivity. [52-58]
  • Decreases muscle soreness for better recovery and performance. [59, 60]
  • Alleviates inflammatory joint pain for improved training longevity. [61]

Bottom line?

Consuming sufficient EPA/DHA is a critical step in maximizing your overall health and fitness while preventing the risk for disease.

Unfortunately, the average Western diet provides just 10-20% of the proper amount per day. [62]

The American Heart Health Association recommends 1 gram of combined EPA/DHA daily (though research has shown benefits at up to 6 grams daily), with the average Westerner taking in just 0.1-0.2 grams daily. [63]

More and more people are becoming aware of this fact, which is why fish oil supplements continue to rise in popularity every year.

O3 Prime™: Purified High Potency Fish Oil In The Leading Quality “Reesterified Triglyceride” Form.

O3 Prime softgels

Before you simply run out and grab the first bottle of fish oil you see off the shelf, it’s critical to understand that not all fish oil is created equally.

There are several key differences that must be considered, including which specific type of oil you’re getting, where it’s sourced from, the processing methods used and the overall EPA/DHA potency.

Depending on a combination of these factors, you could either end up with a very high-grade or very low-grade fish oil supplement.

Let’s break down in simple terms the 5 key factors that make O3 Prime the leading choice for fish oil supplementation you can trust…

Highly absorbable “Reesterified Triglyceride” form.

rtg fish oil

The majority of popular fish oils on the market are delivered in the processed “ethyl ester” form.

While this form does provide a high level of purity and EPA/DHA potency, it isn’t absorbed by the body as effectively in comparison to other forms.

Research has shown that fish oils in the natural (unprocessed) triglyceride form are utilized more readily than ethyl esters, as well as being less susceptible to rancidification (they don’t go bad as quickly). [64-67]

Unfortunately, the low level of processing involved with natural triglyceride fish oils also means that they typically contain higher levels of contaminants and lower levels of EPA/DHA.

So, both the ethyl ester and natural triglyceride forms (the ones that nearly all popular fish oils are sold as) have their own specific drawbacks that make them each a less than ideal choice.

That’s why O3 Prime is delivered in the leading quality “reesterified triglyceride” form (rTG).

This form uses special enzymes to convert ethyl esters back into triglycerides, improving the bio-availability, potency and stability of the oil.

Reesterified triglycerides have quickly become the new standard in fish oil supplementation, providing an absorption rate that is superior to both the ethyl ester and natural triglyceride forms, while also being more resistant to rancidification. [68-70]

Not only that, but rTG oils provide their superior bio-availability while still maintaining high EPA/DHA potency, along with purity levels that meet even the strictest standards set for fish oil supplements.

Purest quality sourcing.

o3 prime sourcing

Studies have shown that small, cold-water, non-predatory fish provide the healthiest source of oil available with the lowest level of contaminants possible. [71-74]

That’s why O3 Prime is sourced from Icelandic deepwater anchovy and is processed using enhanced molecular distillation.

This ensures that you’re getting a fully purified, top quality end-product you can trust.

It’s impossible to create a fish oil supplement with zero contaminants (since these substances are simply found in the environment and can’t be completely avoided), but it is possible to keep the amounts extremely low and at a level that is well within safe limits for consumption.

O3 Prime meets the strict standards set by the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3 (GOED), the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), and the European Pharmacopoeia Reference Standards (EPRS) by providing:

  • Fewer than 0.1 parts per million of heavy metals.
  • Fewer than 1.75 parts per trillion of dioxins.
  • Fewer than 1 part per trillion of dioxin-like PCBs.
  • Fewer than 0.09 parts per million of total PCBs.
Double strength EPA/DHA potency.

epa and dha

The total amount of raw fish oil that any given product provides is only one part of the equation. What really matters is the specific amount of EPA and DHA that the fish oil contains.

EPA and DHA are the highly valuable omega-3 fatty acids responsible for producing all of the benefits we’ve talked about so far.

Check the label on many popular fish oil supplements and you’ll often see lower amounts of combined EPA/DHA somewhere in the range of 200-300mg per gram of fish oil.

Not only do these low potency products end up costing you more money for less active ingredient, but they also force you to take a larger number of pills each day to get the specific amounts of EPA/DHA you really need.

Even if your fish oil does provide a very high potency of, say, 750mg of EPA/DHA per serving, there’s a very good chance that it’s being delivered in the less absorbable ethyl ester form.

With O3 Prime, you’re getting a concentrated dose of 565mg of combined EPA/DHA per serving in the high bio-availability rTG form.

That means more omega-3’s per gram than most popular products provide and a superior absorption rate to go along with it.

Environmentally friendly.

friend of the sea

As if this all wasn’t reason enough to trust O3 Prime as your go-to source of fish oil, you can also feel good knowing that our product is sustainably sourced using environmentally friendly methods.

O3 Prime is a proud member of “Friend Of The Sea”, a leading international certification that audits fisheries using strict sustainability criteria.

This includes the use of minimally destructive fishing methods, limiting how much can be caught from specific areas, avoiding critical habitat areas, prohibiting the use of growth hormones/GMO’s/toxins, and minimizing carbon footprint.

O3 Prime™: The Bottom Line

Whether it’s for improving cardiovascular health, brain function, joint health, immune function, insulin sensitivity, muscle growth or fat loss, the benefits of proper omega-3 intake cannot be overstated.

The average Western diet provides as little as 1/10th the recommended amount, making fish oil supplementation a wise option for those who don’t regularly consume fatty fish throughout the week.

O3 Prime provides the highest quality form of fish oil available (100% re-esterified triglycerides from sustainably sourced Icelandic anchovy) and is processed using enhanced molecular distillation for optimal purity and absorption.

You also get a high concentration of EPA/DHA per serving delivered in lemon flavored softgels to prevent unwanted “fish burps”.

O3 Prime is a no-brainer for anyone wanting to optimize their overall health, well-being and body composition.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I just eat regular fish rather than supplementing with O3 Prime?

Yes, but in order to get in the optimal dose of 1-2 grams of EPA/DHA, you’d have to consume the equivalent of around 1 serving (roughly 100 grams) of fatty fish every day, which is quite uncommon for most people.

Not only that, but eating high amounts of fish rich in omega 3’s also increases your risk of consuming excessive heavy metals and other environmental toxins.

This makes fish oil supplementation a great option for getting in your daily EPA/DHA requirements without potentially putting your health at risk.

What specific effects will I feel by taking O3 Prime?

Some benefits of O3 Prime can be directly “felt”, while others provide overall long-term benefits that work more “beneath the hood” and won’t be quite as obvious.

Examples of benefits that you may directly feel after a few weeks of supplementation include improvements in mood and well-being, increased mental clarity, reduced muscle soreness and better joint health.

Just how strongly these effects are experienced largely depends on what your EPA/DHA levels were prior to supplementation, as well as individual factors.

Examples of benefits that you won’t necessarily “feel” but may experience symptoms of longer term include improved heart health, body composition, immune function and bone health just to name a few.

Does O3 Prime have any muscle building or fat burning benefits?

While supplementing with fish oil certainly isn’t going to add two inches to your arms or 50 pounds to your bench press overnight, it can help to optimize your results over the long term when used in combination with proper training and diet.

This is because fish oil is research supported to:

  • Increase activation of the mTOR pathway, a central trigger of protein synthesis. [47-48]
  • Reduce muscle breakdown by lowering cortisol levels. [49-51]
  • Improve fatty acid oxidation and insulin sensitivity. [52-58]
  • Decrease muscle soreness for better recovery and performance. [59-60]
  • Alleviate inflammatory joint pain for improved training longevity. [61]

How do I know that O3 Prime doesn't include any harmful toxins or contaminants?

While it’s impossible to create a fish oil supplement with zero contaminants (since these substances are simply found in the environment and can’t be completely avoided), it is possible to keep the amounts at a fully minimized level that is safe for consumption.

Studies have shown that small, cold-water, non-predatory fish provide the purest source of oil available with the lowest level of contaminants possible. [71-74]

That’s why O3 Prime is sourced from deepwater Icelandic anchovy and is processed using enhanced “molecular distillation” to ensure that you’re getting a fully purified end-product you can trust.

How often should I use O3 Prime, and when is the best time to take it?

We recommend 2-4 total grams of O3 Prime per day, ideally split into two dosages taken in the morning and/or afternoon with food.

Although fish oil is not a stimulant, it does increase brain activity and so a slight stimulatory effect may be felt after supplementation.

I’ve heard from a few sources that krill oil is superior to fish oil. Is this true?

The research on this topic is fairly mixed and inconclusive at this point. Some studies have shown slightly higher absorption rates with krill oil, while others have failed to replicate these findings.

Given the huge amount of research that already supports fish oil’s benefits along with the significantly higher price of krill oil, we felt that fish oil was the smarter option for O3 Prime.

Will I experience the “fish burps” with O3 Prime?

Since O3 Prime is delivered in the leading re-esterified triglyceride form (which is less susceptible to rancidification than the commonly sold ethyl ester form) and is provided in softgels coated with natural lemon flavoring, the chances of fish burps are very unlikely as long as you consume it alongside food.

If you do experience this problem, keeping the bottle in the freezer and splitting your dosage up throughout the day should eliminate it.

How big are the softgels?

03 Prime is delivered in medium sized softgels that are lightly coated for easy swallowing.

Does O3 Prime need to be refrigerated?

Although refrigerating O3 Prime will technically extend its shelf life, it shouldn’t be necessary since each bottle provides a 1-2 month supply and is stable at room temperature for up to 2 years.

Are there any side effects I should know about?

As long as you consume O3 Prime within the recommended dosage and have no pre-existing health issues, side effects are extremely unlikely.

That said, fish oil can reduce blood clotting and should be supplemented with caution if blood-thinning medications, asprin, warfarin or clopidogrel are already present in the body.

If you are using any of these medications or any others you’re unsure about, make sure to consult your doctor first.

Is O3 Prime gluten-free?

Yes.

Is O3 Prime vegetarian?

No.

Is O3 Prime vegan?

No.

      Perfect

I have taken other fish oils before but this one has the best of both worlds. Cheap and perfectly dosed. No smell and no after taste. Top quality! Will definitely be sticking to RS supplements as my go to.

      Excellent fish oil

This fish oil is great. It can be difficult to choose with so many options out there. This is the purest form of oil you can get (rTG) with high EPA/DHA potency, low cost per gram and environmentally friendly as well. No weird smells when I opened the bottle, and zero aftertaste. Perfect product to add to my daily supplement regiment.

      No taste, which is great

There’s no after taste which is great! My only dislike is they’re kinda big for me to swallow. The price & quality are top notch.

I have taken other fish oils before, but I am sticking with this one. My husband thoroughly researches any product before we take it (we used to work at a vitamin store and my husband does research for a living!) This fish oil was his recommendation, so I trust it to be too notch in quality and price!
I do keep mine in the refrigerator, which helps with any type of fishy aftertaste, and I can say that I have not had any burps after taking this fish oil as I have with many other brands.
